Pool party!&#8221; And intermittently, the other kids would pick up the chant: <em>pool party! pool party!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It was, as you can see, the teeniest of pools, but it seemed to suffice:<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"frame-outer  \"><span><span><span><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/siduri\/7770852186\/\" title=\"015 by Jo Shannon Phillips, on Flickr\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7251\/7770852186_5ba73de3a5.jpg\" width=\"415\" height=\"415\" alt=\"015\"><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>It was sunny, and there was a hose, so that the water could be replenished as it was enthusiastically splashed away. And Nonna and Pappy came too, and helped with the party. So even though it was a dead-simple backyard hangout, just a couple of hours of splashing around in the sun, it still felt like a super special day: a <em>birthday<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Pool party!&#8221; Robin screamed. &#8220;Pool party!
